Why This Role Matters
Behind every patrol, rescue, and response is the equipment that makes it possible. From radios and rescue tubes to first aid kits and patrol gear, having the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time is critical to saving lives.
We’re looking for an Asset Logistics Support team member to help keep our national equipment and assets organised, tracked and ready for action. This is a role for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys systems and logistics, and takes pride in supporting frontline operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our equipment is well managed and operationally ready, working closely with teams across Surf Life Saving NZ.
This includes:
Maintaining accurate asset records and supporting our national asset management system
Coordinating the distribution, tracking and return of operational equipment
Supporting inventory management, stock control and forecasting
Assisting with equipment orders, deliveries and supplier coordination
Managing defective equipment processes, including tracking, repair and replacement
Providing responsive support to clubs and internal teams on equipment enquiries
Contributing to reporting, audits, and continuous improvement of systems and processes
At its core, this role helps ensure our people have what they need to do their job safely and effectively.
What You’ll Bring
You’re someone who is organised, reliable, and enjoys working behind the scenes to make things run smoothly.
Experience in administration, logistics, asset, or inventory management
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Confidence working with systems and data (experience with asset systems a plus)
Good planning and organisational skills
A proactive, can-do approach, you take ownership and follow things through
Strong communication skills and a service-focused mindset
